A properly installed cricket net creates a regulation-dimension batting lane that replicates match conditions as closely as possible, giving players the practice quality they need to improve.
Standard cricket practice nets use HDPE knotted netting in 45mm or 50mm mesh, with a minimum cord breaking strength of 35kg per knot — the specification required to stop a cricket ball travelling at full bowling pace. The net is stretched on a galvanised steel tubular frame, typically 3.5m wide by 3m high by 25m long, with optional side baffles to prevent edge balls escaping the lane.
