Sajja Covering Nets

Sajja covering nets are specifically designed for the small projecting balcony slab or sunshade structure known as the sajja — a common architectural feature in South Indian residential buildings. The sajja typically projects 300–600mm from the building wall below each window or at balcony sill level, creating a flat horizontal ledge that pigeons and crows colonise for nesting.

A sajja covering net encloses the sajja space by wrapping a net across the front and sides of the projection, preventing birds from landing on the slab surface or nesting in the space beneath. The net is anchored to the building wall above the sajja, stretched forward to the slab edge, and then down the front face to seal the space completely.
