Terrace Safety Nets

Terrace safety nets provide fall protection for open rooftop terraces, ensuring that children, adults, and workers cannot fall from the terrace edge. Unlike balcony parapets which are typically a fixed height, terraces may have lower walls, unprotected edges near stairwells, or railing-free areas near plant rooms and water tanks that represent genuine fall hazards.

A terrace safety net system is installed vertically along the terrace perimeter, rising above the existing wall or railing height to a total barrier height of 2.1 metres — the minimum height required to prevent falls. The net is anchored to the terrace structure using SS post brackets fixed to the parapet, with the net stretched tightly between posts to create a continuous vertical barrier.

For residential buildings where children use the terrace, terrace safety nets also serve as play area boundaries — preventing balls and other objects from being thrown or blown off the terrace edge. The net height and mesh size are selected to account for both fall prevention and object containment.
